About Me
Save the planet is a full-time job for Marvel superheroes. But they don't shy away from making their contributions to charitable operations, especially for children. Here are 6 examples that warm the heart.
Saving the planet (and the rest of the galaxy for that matter) is obviously a full-time job for superheroes. But when they are at rest, they also do not disdain to do some great media actions with people in need, whether adults or - especially - children. Because bringing dreams is not only done on the big screen. The proof.

CAPTAIN AMERICA GIVES HIS SHIELD TO A 6-YEAR-OLD WHO SAVES HIS LITTLE SISTER
In July 2020, Chris Evans , aka Captain America, wanted to congratulate a six-year-old boy, Bridger Walker, who had saved his little sister from a dog attack. "I'm sure you must have heard this quite a few times over the past few days, but let me be the next to say it: you are a hero! What you did was so brave, selfless, your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother. Your parents must be so proud of you!" he said. Adding: "Keep being the man you are, we need people like you. Hang in there, I know healing can be hard but from what I've seen there's no not much that can slow you down".
It was the young boy's aunt, Nicole Noel Walker, who shared the video above and soliciting support from the cast of the Avengers team , explaining Bridger's painful misadventure on Instagram. The child needed 90 stitches after the wounds made by the dog, protecting his sister.
People also ask:
"After being bitten several times in the face and head, he grabbed his sister's hand and ran with her to safety. [...] We want all other superheroes to know about this hero who joined their ranks ," she wrote. Message heard by Chris Evans therefore, who had decided to send him an authentic shield of Captain America having been used on a shoot. What make the convalescence of the child more joyful.
THE AVENGERS AT THE BEDSIDE OF SICK CHILDREN
In April 2019, Robert Downey Jr. , Chris Hemsworth , Scarlett Johansson , Jeremy Renner , Paul Rudd , and Brie Larson gathered at the Disney Resort in Anaheim, California to announce a $5 million donation to help children in the hospitals around the world. A charitable operation which benefited in particular the association Give Kids The World , based in Florida, which wanted to use part of the donation to finance a week-long vacation with all expenses paid for children with serious illnesses and their families.
"Avengers superheroes personify traits like courage, perseverance, bravery and hope - the same traits that countless children and their families in children's hospitals exhibit every day. We are grateful to the actors of the Avengers to take the time to be part of this effort to lift the spirits and comfort the children during a difficult time” commented for his part Bob Iger , at the time the CEO of Disney.
Supreme reward for some children: they had the opportunity to spend time with their idols in a toy store (LEGO not to name it), and discover with the actors and actresses the collection of toys around Avengers: Endgame . Something to make their day unforgettable.
THE SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME CAST VISIT CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL LOS ANGELES
Established in 1901, Children's Hospital Los Angeles is a very venerable medical institution in the City of Angels. She also regularly organizes charitable operations for her young patients, asking the studios to organize, for example, film screenings for them. And if the superheroes can come in their costumes, that's even better!
The year Spider-Man: Far From Home was released in 2019, Tom Holland , Jake Gyllenhaal and Zendaya came to the establishment to meet their hospitalized fans before showing them the new Spider-Man film. Something to boost the morale of young admirers of their favorite superheroes.
SPIDER-MAN IN THE PLAYGROUND!
Before Tom Holland took on the Spider-Man suit, there was Andrew Garfield . In April 2014, the Amazing Spider-Man 2 actor donned the costume to visit children at London-based Kids City . And play with them in the playground! To see the photos, it's here ! The children were also able to come to the red carpet for the London premiere of the film.
ROBERT DOWNEY JR INVITED A FAN ON THE SET OF "AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR"
We could have finished the selection by staying on this virtual meeting of the Avengers confined like the rest of the world in the midst of a pandemic , thanking the fans for their support and dropping a " Take care of yourself, stay strong. We are stronger together, We'll get through this, no matter what." But we prefer to close the loop in the company of the one who opened the selection: Robert Downey Jr.
You may have heard of the American platform Omaze , a company that serves as a fundraiser for charitable operations. The principle is simple: for a donation, the person participates in a lottery-style draw to win a dream prize: house, luxury car, trip with VIP treatment... The list of possible prizes is long. The more the person makes a high donation, the more they increase their chances of being drawn. Unstoppable.
The platform is thus regularly called upon for charitable operations organized around films or TV series, with the key being a one-day visit to the set with VIP treatment, private meeting with talents, etc.
In 2017, Robert Downey Jr, in the middle of filming Avengers: Infinity War , offered a lucky fan to come on the set of the Marvel film. The idea was to raise money for his Random Act Funding , founded by the actor and his wife Susan, which proposed to "distribute goodness in the form of financial support on a local, national and global scale."
Supported by Tom Holland and the rest of the film crew, Mr Iron Man had split a very nice and funny video to encourage donations, to discover below.
